As of January 24, 2025, I finally have a new book out. The title is, "Of All the Fates".
This book took me over two and half years to write; not because I couldn't do it, but because I kept changing my mind about the direction, I wanted the story to go.
First, it was going to be a romance novel, plain and simple, but I couldn't quite do just a simple romance, nope, not in me. I typically write mysteries with some sort of paranormal or witchy twist to them, and this was definitely not going in any sort of paranormal direction. But I did like the element of mystery being added to it, but it still didn't do it for me, so I went the way of suspense and added in a few tropes along the way, to make it that much harder to write, and why not add in a first person POV? Again, it didn't quite give me the feel I was going for, so I went with multiple POV's, mainly the two Main character's, Zoey and Jackson.
Okay, now we're getting somewhere, but like I said, I added in some tropes, such as the reverse age gap, because hey, why can't the older woman get the younger guy, right? And of course, let's put the grumpy meets sunshine in there, too, because everyone loves the jerk, and the whole reason he's a jerk is because of his harsh previous relationship, that pretty much left him unable to trust any woman, ever again, until little miss sunshine barrels into his life, unexpectedly. But she is a widow, and he is the quintessential divorcee, so we have that trope, and I set it in a quaint small town in Tennessee, so small town trope - check. And let's not forget second chance love, a slow burn, and a curvy female character, plus a trigger warning, which contains violence, not a lot, but it is in there.
Now, with all of the tropes and such, I did add in some humorous banter, because honestly, life isn't always serious, at least we hope it isn't.
So, what I've essentially created is a small town, second chance love between an older curvy sunshine widowed female and a gorgeous grumpy divorced younger guy, who keep running into each other at every turn. Do you think fate is trying to tell them something? Maybe, just maybe. And do you believe that there is that one person meant for you?
The Chinese believe in something called the red string of fate, which means that two people are destined to be together, regardless of place, time or circumstances. This invisible red string may stretch, tangle, bunch up, and knot, but it will never break.
So maybe Zoey and Jackson are meant to meet the way they do, but will they even be able to withstand what comes at them? You will have to read it and find out.
To say I am excited about the release of this book, is an understatement. Writing parts of this book had me feeling all the feels and even bawling my eyes out at certain points, but it also had me laughing at the way Zoey's mind worked at times.
I will be heading to St. Augustine, Florida this month for #TropiCon2025 and it will be the first big event to debut my new book, as well as my other books, too. I can't wait for this book event; it is huge, and I'll also be attending #TropiCon2025Branson in May. If you are in any of those areas, I'd love to meet you all.
I will be hard at work on two new books that will be out this year, one is book 4 in my Eva St. Claire Mystery Series, titled Race to the Death, and the other one, will be book 1 of 4 in my Smoky Mountain Security Series. Look for updates on those via my social media pages.
Until next time, happy reading and happy dreaming.
